NOR CH CORYDON AUGUSTUS CAESAR

Born 5th January 1980 - bred by Barbara and John Blake

‘Gus’ came into our part ownership at the age of five and I remember the exciting ferry trip from Gothenburg to Harwich and back to fetch him. His pedigree offered what we felt were some of the best bloodlines and being so strongly linebred, we felt his potential as a sire could be great. He was co-owned with our good friends Bodil and Bob Wilson (Macheather Collies) and lived with them all his life in Norway.

Gus, in my opinion, posessed the most beautiful head and his eye, perfectly shaped and placed, giving a very kind expression - as we grew to know Gus, we learnt that this expression truly also reflected his kind and gentle nature. It was not difficult to love Gus.

Gus was mainly bought as a stud dog but also won his title, his first CC won under Mrs Betty Eglin at the Norwegian Collie Club's main championship show in May 1985. His other two CCs were won under Birgitta Svarstad and Annika Ulltveit-Moe. Gus also won

3 CACIBs.

Gus was the perfect gentleman, he had such a beautiful nature. He proved to be a very successful stud dog in Norway and was worth his weight in gold as a sire. From only 10 litters he produced some outstanding offspring gaining some outstanding wins, most notably his famous daughter Int & Nor Ch Breezdon Diamonds Are Forever who amongst her wins could count four times BIS at The Norwegian Kennel Club’s International All Breed Shows - a truly remarkable feat for a Collie. Her movement was an extrordinary experience to enjoy as she powered around the ring with extensive reach and drive yet keeping her topline firm and still - she did send shivers down my spine! She also finished Runner Up Top Dog All Breeds in 1991 and is the top winning Collie of all time in Norway. Gus was the sire of 6 champions in Norway and several CC winners.
