'Jess' is a real character, our 'clown'...a girl with a great sense of humour! She's a complete joy to live with, a personality plus, she's so sweet natured yet a lot of fun and extremely bright. Jess will stare at you or 'paw' you until she gets the attention she wants and loves nothing more than the limelight... I love showing her simply because she loves it so much! She's incredibly loving and really does 'hug' you with all her might. Her favourite  hobby is birds – she has not caught any yet but lives in hope!

Jess' show debut was at The British Collie Club Championship Show where she went Best Puppy In Show under Mrs Birgit Hayward and Mrs Duna Jones.  Her litter sister in Norway, Phreelancer Phantasia (owned by Lillian Olsen) won 3 CCs as a junior and her litter brother Phreelancer Phamous Words (owned by Mari Maria Palgi) gained his Estonian title. Another brother, Phreelancer Phortunes Leap (owned by Charlotte and Lewis McLarty) gained his Stud Book Number.

Due to maternal duties and then Covid, Jess had a long absence from the show scene but came back to win her first CC under Mr Knut Sigurd Wilberg at Working and Pastoral Breeds of Wales in April 2021. It was a day of great joy as her son, Phreelancer Chill Phactor for Elshajo (owned by Eleri Bluck) also won the Dog CC and BOB and so we had the great thrill of 'doing the double'! Jess went on to win her second CC and BOB at Southern Counties in June 2022 under Espen Engh and followed this up with CC and BOB at City of Birmingham in 2023 under Mr Derek Smith and finally obtaining her title.  Jess promptly dropped her coat in time for the Crufts entries going in, however, I entered her in the hope that we could do 'something' with her coat but held little hope and was prepared not to take her... As it happened, I had two long standing friends coming to stay, Ulla Bergh-Persson and Henriette Hansen and, having bathed Jess, they persuaded me to take her and am I glad they did!!! Jess (handled by Henriette as I had our young Vivien to take into the challenge) not only won the Open class but then went on to win the CC and BOB! It was an indescribably joyous moment and one I will never forget. Our judge, Mrs Viv Anderton, then came over to Vivien with the res CC - it was a day dreams are made of! It was an unforgettable thrill to have Jess represent our breed in the Pastoral Group at Crufts amongst all the razzmatazz. The success carried on and at Scottish Kennel Club in May 2024, Jess' son 'Ice' (Phreelancer Chill Phactor for Elshajo) won his third CC with BOB and amazingly Jess also winning the Bitch CC! Another incredible day to remember and our judge was Mrs Bev White. This was also the third time our small kennel had won 'the double' which is quite unbelievable!

We are so proud of the fact that Jess has won all her CCs under highly respected and world renowned judges and both all rounders and breed specialists.

Jess had two litters, her first by Multi Ch One Extraordinary Blu di Cambiano and from this litter came her son Ch Phreelancer Chill Phactor  for Elshajo (owned by Eleri Bluck) who has done us so proud, winning Best Puppy In show at his first Ch Show, 'Pup of the Year' at the EACA contest in January 2020, obtaining his Junior Warrant, winning his class at Crufts and last but not least, gaining his Champion title and winning a forth CC and BOB at Blackpool in 2024 where he was also shortlisted in the Pastoral Group. In Jess' second litter (by Ch Corydon The Ringleader) came our sable girl 'Saga' - now known as Ch Phreelancer Phormal Dress! In this litter also came the sable male Phreelancer Phinal Salute (owned by Charlotte and Denisa Vescan) who has also done us very proud winning his owners' first ever CC plus 2 res CCs.

Apart from all the wins, Jess is a lovely girl to live with and I very often find myself almost calling Jess 'Grace' (and have caught myself doing it) as there is an uncanny similarity between them - although the two of them were only remotely related...
